* During World War II, the US Army Air Forces developed the most sophisticated long-range bomber of the conflict, the Boeing "B-29 Superfortress", which served significant roles in the final battle against Japan, and later in the Korean War. This document provides a history and description of the B-29, as well as its improved "B-50" variants, and "C-97" transport derivatives. A list of illustration credits is included at the end.
